Carbon Steel Lap Joint Flanges are pipe fittings used in conjunction with a stub end to form a flange connection. Unlike weld-neck or slip-on flanges, the lap joint flange does not weld directly to the pipe — instead, the pipe is welded to the stub end, and the flange itself “laps” over it.
